When Your Losing

Losing is never fun, the main thing is to try and not let it affect your game.

You need to be able to play the exact same game when you are winning as when you are losing.

The cards don’t have a memory, so they don’t care what your last hand was.

If you notice that the previous hands you just played are changing your game then you need to get off the table because you will start losing money.

In a ring game I was just playing, a player just commented after he thought for a while then called on the river with QA - the board was 2Q379, after he won he said he was going to fold to a small bet because the person who bet had beat him in several hand with an over pair.

He said he was sure that he had AA or KK, when your going to fold Queens because you think that someone has KK or AA with one smallish bet, you need to find a new table to play on.

I try and look at the reason I am losing, if it is just because I am getting bad cards, then I keep playing. If it is because someone else is out playing me then I look for a new table.

I also have a set amount of money I am willing to lose at a table before I get off, usually if I am down 15 big blinds then I am done with that table.
